Tuesday Liqueur Night: Hopia Like it!

For six years, gian and i finally i got to celebrate our first hearts' day together. Well, at least the evening. We didn't plan of having a romantic dinner somewhere (gian is not a fan) so we just celebrated the day spending quality time together.

Gifts? Again, Gian is not a fan. I am a big fan though but I think mindoro has really sucked out the creative juices in my head so I opted for something  I know Gian would surely like and appreciate. And guess what that safe choice is. Food. Food is one of the many things that really bond us together and I know I can never go wrong with it so that day, I decided to find my way to Ongpin Street to buy his favorite hopia.:)

now i got to experience commuting in this part of Manila

Gian is not a fan of dates nor gifts but definitely a SUPER BIG FAN (all caps, ikr?) of hopia. Any hopia will do even those which cost super cheap. On my part, I have heard good reviews of Eng Bee Tin hopia so I bought a few for my valentine.

mahopia

What's so funny about it is that Gian didn't immediately try each flavor. He took each one slowly as if he is savoring each single bite. Kung ako yun, wagam na kagad, hahahahah

When the husband went to Malaysia last December, he bought a box of Anthon Berg liqueur chocolate. At first, I hesitated to indulge since I had a bad experience with liqueur filled chocolates last christmas. When i first had one, it felt like my head would explode and i was dizzy evening to dusk.

But this one's different. It's so chocolaty (chocolate naman talaga, toink). What I meant is that the liqueur is there but it didn't took over the chocolaty taste.

parang sumabit lang ung baba ko sa braso ni gian

yummmmehhh!
at the end of the day, hearts' day is just any other day. it's up to the people how they want it to be. for me, hearts' day 2012 was a blast simply because i celebrated love day with my beloved.

already consumed, sir!
What's left of it after a couple of sesh. NAUBOS DIN SA WAKAS!

True Love Waits

It has been eighteen days since the husband and I saw each other. In earth-days, that is just two weeks and four days ago but for me, it has been a very long and excruciating eighteen days times twenty four hours and that's another excuse why i hate math because I miss Gian so bad!!!!!:(

Gian and I started with a long distance relationship. He studied in ozzilandia and the only time we see each other is during December breaks. That sucks, I know. The good thing about it though is that it makes my holidays so much special. All the more reason why i love Christmas on top of everything I mentioned in december_in_september

Here's how we looked like back then:

Gian's 2006 Break

Gian left PMA for ozzilandia on 14 nov 2006 and this photo was taken when we reunited after more than a year.

2007 Break
Swimming, our favorite activity aside from running. Cough. Cough. Cough.

So what is this post really about? Well, I just want to express how I am so thankful for having survived a long distance relationship for quite some time. It's a W-O-W considering it's my first and i must admit that Gian was so kind to understand me and just listen and make everything better for me. Thank You Father for sending Gian!

so true!

International Women's Day

according to the news, today is international women's day. or this month is international women's month. not so sure which is which.

even ms google celebrates IWD!

I always wondered about the significance of this special day. i am not so aggressive and revolutionary about it so i decided to make a significant milestone in my bloglife related to today's celebration.

taaaddaaaaahhh!

oh well, im not surprised that you're not surprised.;p just notice how my blog has transformed.:)
i changed my template design to something more serious. although that doesn't mean my posts will be more serious next time.hahaha i decided to have this changes for the following reasons:

the blog title- from of random thoughts and ideas. that was just so natural. thinking out loud is all the same so natural but i can sense some excitement out of its simplicity.

the theme- well i thinks it's about time to get that tranquility that i have always looked for. i can compare the design to what the beach would look like at night. the darkness that surrounds the water is randomly disturbed by the innocent beauty of sparkles from the beach lights or the lamps that are used by the fishermen nearby.

oh my god. this post is so me. so malabo.

UGG in Baguio City

I have been longing to wear ugg boots since I first saw them. They're very simple yet they look so stylish. i could imagine how my long legs would look sexy wearing them. Oh well, reality check: ugg boots are worn during winter and unfortunately (?) we do not have that season here in the Philippines so when the husband and i decided to go to baguio, i thought i would be my chance of wearing one.

Enough with ugg boots.

You might be pissed off why I shrugged off ugg boots when my post is entitled ugg.hahahah funny me. I entitled this post ugg since I will be talking about UGG. UGG stands for Upper Ground , unit G. UGG is our first venture on real estate and gian and I are so up and giddy about it.

Last 17 february 2012, gian and I went to baguio to check the unit and at the same time attend the PMA Alumni Homecoming. I'll be posting another article on Revisiting Baguio City some other time so watch out for that. Anyway, Gian and I were so excited because it is our first time to invest in something big, yes, 1.13M is already big for a young couple like us.

We left cubao around 4 am of 17 and arrived at baguio City around 10 am. First stop was at Goshen land Office at kisad road. Gian settled everything from the move in fee, the utilities and all the other stuff that needs to be processed while I just sat and observed everything that is happening around the lobby. I felt like my king is prepping everything for his queen! Ang ganda ko!

Busy people at Goshen Land Office

The plan was to inspect the unit then leave so we can make gala in baguio city. Afterall, it’s in this cold city where our love story started. But as always, travel fatigue and laziness has taken its toll on us and we just found ourselves sleeping in each other’s arms in our new found crib.

Of course I felt like I have to wake up and take pictures for my not so documented life’s sake.

UGG is not that big but it is already furnished with a dining set, a refrigerator, an electric stove, a flat screen tv set, hot and cold shower and a wash area. Our objective in buying this unit is not for our own use but for business. The building is located at the back of St Louise University thus the target clientele will be the college students so UGG is accordingly designed to be used not as a residential condo. Hay, ansarap na pla maging college student nowadays. Buti pa sila!

the husband. so tall. so mighty.
the wife. so wife.hahahaha

Oh wait! UGG stands for another thing though:

UBER GWAPONG GIAN!
my Uber Gwapong Gian!

Love love love!

Conventional is history, hello myo

I have been wearing conventional braces since june of 2008. I have a class III bite ever since a child so when I entered PMA, I was advised to wear one. For the first two months, I only wore braces on my upper denture but my dentist gave me an appliance that is to be worn on my lower denture. She calls it “platform” . she says that  have to bit it so that my upper teeth will be pulled out and at the same time push the lower denture in.

Here’s how my bite looked like during the first months I started wearing braces.

My visits to the dentist weren’t regular so instead of wearing the braces for only two years, I wore my iron gates for three and a half years. i was always busy. i didn't fail in any pft. i was just busy. no reactions allowed.:)

The slow transition because of infrequent visits to my dentist

It came to a point when i considered looking for a new dentist since traveling from Mindoro to Baguio has been causing me too much hassle and a good fortune. My dentist said that if I am to transfer then I would start from scratch. Scratch to include the check up, Xray and of course, the dreaded 40k payment. I had my mind set on the expenses but it’s still a big amount and is not a joke considering how unstable our finances has become. My husband and I actually had a shopping free holidays. How bad that was for our first holiday together as a couple. In short, we were broke.

With that my dentist offered that she could remove my conventional braces and replace it with MYOBRACES. Myobraces looks the same as what pacquiao wears in his boxing bouts.hahahahaha it’s made of silicon and I have to wear it at least two hours in the morning and then overnight. The myobraces is very convenient on my part since I don’t have to traverse the four express ways of Luzon just to have my elastics replaced.
Meet myo
Here’s what I looked like when I first wore the myobraces. Gross.

On January 4, 2012, I went to visit my dentist at Session Road. She made baklas of my braces and at first, I felt like my teeth would fall off my gums. Having titanium brackets for quite some time have already made me feel used to having something to keep my gums and bones from their natural growth.

Weeeee! I feel so free! To all my friends and cousins who are not so vain, if you are interested on wearinjg braces, feel free to contact me so I can give you my brackets. Each bracket costs php500.00 and I have twenty pieces so using mine would really cut your budget short. :)
